Yesterday, Citi News were compelled to issue a disclaimer over a Citi News video circulating in which Dr. Daniel Asare, Cheif Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, stated that the two confirmed cases of the deadly coronavirus in Ghana by the health minister Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu on 12th March 2020 proved negative and as such, suggesting that there are no cases in Ghana.
Citi News stated clearly in the disclaimer to the general public that the video in circulation is an old interview which was conducted on 6th February, 2020, when the first two suspected cases tested and proved negative.
Citi News urged the general public to disregard the false information as a current news to deliberately misinform the general public on the new coronavirus cases that tested positive in Ghana.
