CORONAVIRUS: CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19 IN GHANA RISE TO 132

In respect of contact tracing, the Ghana Health Service stated, a total of 970 contacts have been identified and are being tracked.

"The great majority of the confirmed cases are Ghanaians, who returned to the country from affected countries", Ghana Health Service stated.

The Ministry also stated of the total confirmed cases, Seven (7) are of other nationals namely: Norway, Lebanon, China, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom (UK).



The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed the country's COVID-19 cases has reached 132.


Out of the total confirmed cases, one (1) is in critical condition and one patient has recovered full.


A total of fifty-four (54) cases including three (3) deaths have been confirmed from the regular surveillance systems.

All the three (3) cases that unfortunately succumbed to the disease were aged and had underlying chronic medical conditions.


The Ghana Health Service said, all the other fifty-one (51) cases are well; fourteen (14) are being managed at home and the rest are responding well to treatment on admission in isolation.



"The great majority of the confirmed cases are Ghanaians, who returned to the country from affected countries", Ghana Health Service stated.


The Ministry also stated of the total confirmed cases, Seven (7) are of other nationals namely: Norway, Lebanon, China, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom (UK).


A total number of seventy-eight (78) cases under 14 days mandatory quarantine tested positive of the deadly COVID-19


In respect of contact tracing, the Ghana Health Service stated, a total of 970 contacts have been identified and are being tracked.


Out of the 970 contacts, two hundred and four (204) have completed their 14 days mandatory follow up.


What should I do to keep my spirit up while in self-quarantine?


Being under quarantine can be frightening. The following should be done to reduce anxiety -- Talk to the other members of the family about the COVID-19. Understanding the disease will reduce anxiety. -- Reassure young children using age-appropriate language. -- Think about how you have coped with difficult situations in the past and reassure yourself that you will cope with this situation too. Remember that quarantine won’t last for long. -- Keep in touch with family members and friends via telephone, email or social media. -- Stock plenty of materials to read to keep your mind occupied. -- Exercise regularly from your quarantine area. -- Ensure that you drink at least 8 glasses of water every day to keep hydrated. -- Eat all your meals in a timely manner.
