The Ghana Health Service (GHS), on the latest update on the nation's case count of the novel coronavirus, said, the case count has increased from 7,303 to 7,616 and total recoveries 2,421.
60% of the total confirmed case are male whiles 40% are female.
The GHS also stated, there are seventeen (17) severe cases with one (1) on a ventilator. University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) 6 cases, Ga East 4 cases, Kumasi 3 cases, Korle Bu 2 cases, 37 Military Hospital 2 cases, and Ho 1 case.
According to the GHS updates on Friday, May, 29th, the Bono East Region has also recorded its first COVID-19 case.
Between March 2020 and May 2020, a total of 208,328 blood samples have been tested for COVID-19. The breakdown is as follows routine surveillance, 58,804 tests with a total of 2,803 testings positive. Contact tracing, 149,524 tests with a total of 4,698 testings positive and mandatory quarantine, 2,022 tests with a total of 115 testings positive.
With this update, a total of 15 regions have recorded the deadly novel coronavirus which begun in Wuhan, China somewhere December last year.
These regions are Greater Accra Region, Ashanti Region, Western Region, Central Region, Eastern Region, Western North Region, Volta Region, Northern Region, Upper East Region, Oti Region, Upper West Region, North East Region, Bono Region, Savannah Region, and Bono East Region.
Meanwhile, the Ahafo Region is the only region with no cases of COVID-19 yet.
