COVID-19: CASES INCREASES BY 921 IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS BRINGING THE TOTAL CONFIRMED CASES TO 4,012

61 percentage of the total (4,012) confirmed case are male whiles 39% are female.



The Ghana Health Service, latest update on the nation’s COVID-19 situation on Friday May 8, 2020, indicates the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country has escalated to 4,012.


This means, in less than 48 hours, confirmed cases in Ghana has moved up by 921, with a total of 323 recoveries with mortality still at 18.

The novel coronavirus has now infected 3,935,828 people worldwide since it emerged in Wuhan, China. 274,655 persons have died from the virus and 1,319,306 patients recovered globally.


Per the info on the GHS website, "61 percentage of the total (4,012) confirmed case are male whiles 39% are female".



A total of thirteen (13) regions out of sixteen (16) regions has reported cases of the deadly coronavirus.



Savannah, Bono East and Ahafo regions currently haven't recorded any cases of COVID-19.


Regions that have reported cases of the coronavirus in the country are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Central,Western North, Western Region, Volta, Upper East Region, Oti Region, Upper West Region, Northern Region, North East Region, Bono Region.
