Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ghana has jump to one thousand two hundred and seventy nine (1,279) with nine (10) mortality.
The Ghana Health Service confirmed this on Friday, April, 24, 2020.
The general public is been caution to take note that, the rise in new cases does not represent new infections that are occurring.
Partial Lockdown lifted
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday, April 19, 2020 during his seventh address to the nation on pandemic, lifted the three-week partial lockdown imposed in some parts of Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi districts.
At the time of the address, total confirmed cases stood at one thousand and forty two (1,042) and nine (9) death.
''We will continue to monitor closely events in some hotspots in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area like Weija Gbawe, Ga East, and Ayawaso East Municipalities, and Tema Metropolis, and in the Eastern Region, like Asuoygaman and Lower Manya Krobo Districts" the president added.
Further more, Nana Akufo-Addo said, "whenever the situation so warrants, a community in which the virus is identified as becoming prevalent will be locked-down, until there is a clear understanding of the trajectory of the virus that will allow us to contain it".
A total of twelve (12) regions out of sixteen (16) regions has reported cases of the deadly coronavirus.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in delivering his speech on lifting the three-week restrictions on movement in some parts of the country, advised Ghanaians to wear masks to prevent the transmission of Coronavirus in the country and also urged the citizenry to continue to adhere to the safety protocols regarding the virus infection.
To ensure compliance with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo directives on social distancing and wearing of face masks, the Greater Accra Regional Security (REGSEC) on April 22, 2020 agreed on mandatory wearing of face masks in the Greater Accra Region by the general public”, in a statement signed and released by the Regional Minister, Ismael Ashitey,
According to the Regional Security Council, the enforcement of “NO FACE MASK, NO ENTRY”, takes immediate effect.
Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Oti, Volta, Central, Upper West, Upper East, North East, Western Region and Western North.
