COVID-19: IS GHANA READY FOR WHAT COMES NEXT? CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19 MOVES TO SIXTEEN (16)

• Contact tracing has been initiated in all these confirmed cases.



Information reaching Wentitrel News confirms five (5) new confirmed cases of the COVID-19.


All five were reported from Greater Accra Region on the 19th March, 2020.

This brings the confirmed cases to a total of sixteen (16) , with no death.


Details on the Ghana Health Service (GHS) website are:


The first case is a 29-year-old Ghanaian lady a resident of Accra with no history of travel. Her sample confirmed positive in the laboratory The others include a 34-year-old Ghanaian lady resident of Accra who is a contact of a confirmed case at place of work. A 53-year-old Ghanaian male resident of Tema with no history of travel and no evidence of close contact with any of previous confirmed case. 41-year-old Ghanaian male who had arrived in Ghana by KLM on the 15 March 2020. He indicated a exposure with family members in Amsterdam exhibiting respiratory symptoms and also on the flight with some passengers sneezing and coughing. The last case is a 36-year-old Ghanaian male a resident of Paris, France. His date of arrival in Ghana is unconfirmed and also has no evidence of coming into contact with any infected person. Contact tracing has been initiated in all these confirmed cases.
