EIGHT MORE DEATHS AS COVID-19 CASE JUMPS TO 15,834 WITH 24 PATIENTS IN SEVERE CONDITION

The Ashanti Region recorded 4 deaths, Eastern Region 2, and Northern Region 2

Six (6) patients are currently in critical condition with twenty-four (24) in severe condition while four (4) persons are on a ventilator.



The Ghana Health Service (GHS), on Friday, June 26, 2020, during its briefing on the country's COVID-19 count stated, the case count of COVID-19 has increased to 15, 834 after 361 new cases were recorded in seven (7) regions.


Four (4) deaths were recorded in the Ashanti Region, Eastern Region recorded 2 and the other 2 coming from the Northern region.

A total of 286,453 persons have been tested in the country. The number of recoveries has moved to 11, 755 with the number of active cases has moved to 3, 976.


With 8 more deaths recorded in these three (3) regions Ashanti, Eastern, and Northern the total toll has also increased from 95 to 103.

Of these 3,976 active cases, Six (6) patients are currently in critical condition with twenty-four (24) in severe condition while four (4) persons are on a ventilator.



Currently, the Upper West Region has no active cases. The North East Region and Savanah Region has one case each. The Ahafo and Bono Region have two active cases each

Summary of COVID-19 related deaths

Two women with the ages of 24 and 36, with also no underlying health conditions are the youngest deaths from COVID-19.


The remaining six (6) deaths had underlying health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic lung disease, heart conditions, Alcoholic liver disease, and hypertension.
