FOREIGNER RENTS APARTMENT WITHOUT REGISTERING, FINED!

He just thought he wouldn’t live there for a long time, so he wanted to take a chance on not fulfilling the relevant procedures.

While for the landlord, he had already known that this man would return to the rental house in February but failed to report it to the police.

Fluke Mentality Never Works Per the police, the man ran a company in Foshan, Guangdong, with a branch in Zhenjiang. Due to business needs, he rented the house six months ago without any procedures.

On February 29, he entered China from Guangdong and then directly went to Zhenjiang for quarantine. However, the police was unable to find any rent registration for his apartment.

Thus, on March 15, this man was summoned to the police station at once. On further inquiry, actually, the foreign man fully understood that it was necessary for him to register with the local public security bureau before renting the apartment.  As for him, he just thought he wouldn’t live there for a long time, so he wanted to take a chance on not fulfilling the relevant procedures.

While for the landlord, he had already known that this man would return to the rental house in February but failed to report it to the police.

Therefore, both of them were fined 1000 Yuan, as per the law.

Lightening the Burden of Rent Besides, local governments in China have issued various policies to relieve the economic burden of tenants since 2020, including giving subsidies to talents, relaxing the application conditions for subsidies and so on. Here are some city initiatives. Beijing: Relax the application conditions for market rental subsidies, and those tenants who meet the requirement of the family average monthly income of no more than 4200 Yuan can apply. Shanghai: It is clearly stipulated that the rent standard of low-rent housing shall be set at 80% of the market rent in the area where located. Hangzhou: For all undergraduates and above in the world, on the basis of one-time living allowance of 10000 Yuan for undergraduate, 30000 Yuan for master and 50000 Yuan for doctors, plus an annual rental allowance of 10,000 Yuan for up to six years.
