DISCLAIMER!!!
Greetings Honourable Members,
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of NUGS-China appreciates the concern and empathy that leaders and members of our noble union show towards our brother Joseph Amoako who is currently in a critically unstable situation at a hospital in China. For the avoidance of doubt and to clear any misinformaton being peddled around concerning the status of our brother on various social media and news portals, (NEC) would like to set the records straight to get all leaders and members informed about the "real issues on the ground' as stated hereunder.
First and foremost, we wish to state without any equivocation that JOSEPH AMOAKO IS STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT.
Doctors have not declared him dead and neither has the hospital initiated any process of issuing death certificate to that effect so let's desist from making pronouncements that seek to suggest that he is dead.
In addition, NEC IS IN CONTACT WITH THE LOCAL LEADERSHIP AND THE GHANA EMBASSY AS WELL AS THE FAMILY OF JOSEPH AMOAKO.
In as much as our brother is not a member of NUGS-China, he is still a Ghanaian (a student nonetheless). NEC is therefore in consultation with the Ghana Embassy and the local Ghanaian leadership of Fushun city who are in touch with our brother at the Hospital. Medical reports and the current condition of our brother have been forwarded by the President of NUGS-China, Hon. Felix Gyawu Addo to the Ghana Embassy (Mr. Eddie Authur) who is currently following up on the matter. We would therefore entreat all leaders and their respective chapter members alike to be patient, circumspect in their pronouncements and wait for an official communique on the status of our brother from NEC before they publish any information in connection with the forgoing on social media.
NEC wishes to state that at the time of filing this communique our brother is not dead!!!
Let us be patient and pray for our brother for a speedy recovery.
Thank you all.
Signed——
Felix Gyawu Addo
