The Member of Parliament for Okere constituency & Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development, Mr. Dan Botwe is alive and not dead as it has been widely circulated.
Dan Botwe in a statement dated June 24, 2020, said he is on admission “upon feeling unwell earlier that week”.
The statement also stated he Dan Botwe, has been admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
He was detained at UGMC over fears of COVID-19 infection and was awaiting his COVID-19 test results but reports on the social media indicate he has passed on.
But Mr. Daniel Kenneth, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Okere Assembly in a statement said the general public should treat the reports with all the contempt it deserves since the news is false.
In the statement, the DCE said, “I wish to inform the general public that this news is false and should be treated with all the contempt it deserves. Hon Daniel Botwe is fine by God’s Grace.”
Mr. Botwe who is also the MP for Okere was discharged at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 4, 2020, the statement read.

It has come to our notice the rumor circulating that Hon. Daniel Botwe, MP for Okere Constituency is dead.
I wish to inform the general public that this news is false and should be treated with all the contempt it deserves.
Hon Daniel Botwe is fine by God’s Grace and was discharged on Saturday, 4th July 2020 around 1 pm.
I wish to implore all concerned persons not to be alarmed and that he’s home with his family. Let us all continue to offer prayers of good health and long life for him.
We are also very grateful for all loved ones and genuine persons for their prayers and show of concern. Thank you for your attention
