NPP MAN DENIED ACCESS TO AKUFO-ADDO FORUM IN US RESIGNS FROM PARTY

MR. SOLOMON OWUSU A MINING ENGINEER

A member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has resigned “to concentrate on his family and mining profession.”


In a letter to the General Secretary of the party, Solomon Owusu said the decision was taken after a meeting with his family where concerns were raised about his affiliation to the NPP.

Mr. Owusu has served in various leadership positions of the NPP including its youth wing, TESCON and in the diaspora.

IT WOULD BE CONFLICTING TO REMAIN IN THE PARTY SINCE HE HAS DECIDED TO CRITICISE THE GOVERNMENT ON MATTERS THAT NEGATIVELY AFFECT GHANAIANS.

The now-former member of the NPP said it would be conflicting to remain in the party since he has decided to criticise the government on matters that negatively affect Ghanaians.


Who is Solomon Owusu?


Mr. Owusu is a Mining Engineer Based in the US.


Recently, he was seen in a viral video engaged in a heated argument with a police officer and a member of Ghana’s delegation accompanying President Akufo-Addo after he was denied access to a diaspora town hall meeting.


He had previously asked the President a question about the contentious arrest and deportation of Aisha Huang during another forum at Princeton University in the U.S.


Mr. Owusu claimed he had even more questions to ask the President at the New Jersey meeting that he was denied entry.
