QASEM SOLEIMANI: HUGE CROWDS PACK TEHRAN FOR COMMANDER'S FUNERAL
Huge crowds have packed the streets of the Iranian capital Tehran for the funeral of Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani.
Soleimani was assassinated in a US drone strike in Iraq on Friday on the orders of President Donald Trump.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei led prayers and at one point was seen weeping.
Iran has vowed "severe revenge" for the death of Soleimani and on Sunday pulled back from the 2015 nuclear accord.
Soleimani, 62, headed Iran's elite Quds Force, and was tasked with protecting and boosting Iran's influence in the Middle East.
SOLEIMANI: TRUMP THREATENS IRAQ WITH SANCTIONS IF US TROOPS ARE EXPELLED
President Trump has threatened severe sanctions against Iraq after its parliament called on US troops to leave the country.
"We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that's there. It cost billions of dollars to build. We're not leaving unless they pay us back for it," he told reporters.
Tensions are high after the US assassinated Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad last week. Iran has vowed "severe revenge". Soleimani, 62, spearheaded Iranian military operations in the Middle East, and was regarded as a terrorist by the US.
The general's remains have now returned to his home country, where mourners packed the streets of Tehran early on Monday.

QASEM SOLEIMANI: IRAN ROLLS BACK NUCLEAR DEAL COMMITMENTS
Iran has declared it will no longer abide by any of the restrictions imposed by the 2015 nuclear deal.
In a statement it said it would no longer observe limitations on its capacity for enrichment, the level of enrichment, the stock of enriched material, or research and development.
The statement came after a meeting of the Iranian cabinet in Tehran.
Tensions have been high over the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani by the US in Baghdad. Two loud blasts were heard in the Iraqi capital on Sunday evening.
Initial reports quoting witnesses say rockets landed near the US embassy there.
QASEM SOLEIMANI: IRAQI MPS BACK CALL TO EXPEL US TROOPS
Iraqi MPs have passed a resolution calling for foreign troops to leave the country after the US killed top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in a drone strike at Baghdad airport last week.
Parliament also called for a formal complaint to be made at the UN about US "violations" of Iraqi sovereignty.
Some 5,000 US soldiers are in Iraq as part of the international coalition against the Islamic State (IS) group.
The coalition paused operations against IS in Iraq just before Sunday's vote. It said it was doing so to enable its forces to concentrate on protecting US, UK and other troops at bases in Iraq.
Soleimani's killing marks a major escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran.
QASEM SOLEIMANI: MOURNERS FLOOD THE STREETS AS BODY RETURNS TO IRAN
Hundreds of thousands of mourners have turned out in Iran to receive home the remains of Qasem Soleimani, the general killed by a US drone strike in Iraq.
In Ahvaz, where Soleimani served during the Iran-Iraq war (1980-88), mourners chanted: "Death to America."
Soleimani was the architect of Iran's sphere of influence across the Middle East, and was considered to be the country's second most powerful man.
His assassination marked a significant escalation between Iran and the US.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who had a close personal relationship with Soleimani, has warned of "severe revenge" for the attack, and analysts say Iran may pursue cyber-attacks against the US or traditional attacks on US targets or interests in the Middle East.

A huge crowd in Iraq's capital Baghdad has followed the coffin of Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US air strike on Thursday.
Soleimani was the architect of Iran's Middle East operations and the country has vowed to take "severe revenge".
The funeral procession in Iraq marked the beginning of days of mourning for Soleimani.
His body is to be returned to Iran for a funeral and burial in his home town.
